There were plenty of smiles, giggles and even a few dance moves when MC Dental popped into Dawson St Childcare Co-op in Brunswick last week.
Dr Hadeer Fatlee from MC Dental Highpoint joined the children for a fun, interactive session all about looking after their teeth and discovering what happens during a visit to the dentist.
Armed with some of her special dental equipment, Dr Hadeer gave the children a closer look at the tools they might see at a dental appointment. The idea? To take a little of the mystery out of visiting the dentist and help young children feel more comfortable and confident about what to expect.
Of course, no dental visit would be complete without a chat about brushing! The children learned why looking after their teeth is so important, along with some handy tips to encourage two minutes of brushing, twice a day.
Storytime, dancing and a special guest
There was plenty more fun to be had, with storytime followed by an enthusiastic, everybody-join-in dance session. And just when the children thought the excitement was over, MC Dental’s very own Toothy mascot popped in to say a special hello.
Stickers, showbags and lots of happy little faces rounded out each session.
A big thank you to Dawson Street Child Care Co-op
We’re incredibly grateful to the team at Dawson Street Child Care Co-op for inviting us along. It’s a wonderful centre with a dedicated team of educators who clearly put a great deal of care into creating a welcoming and engaging environment for the children.
It was a pleasure to spend time with such an enthusiastic group of little learners, and we hope they’ve taken home a few new ideas to help keep their smiles healthy.
Thanks for having us, Dawson St Childcare Co-op!
