Dr. Vicky: While I find joy in all aspects of dentistry, cosmetic dentistry and orthodontics particularly excite me.

Q: What sets your approach to dentistry apart?
Dr. Vicky: Personalized, comprehensive care is my practice philosophy. I prioritise patient comfort, and always strive for the best treatment outcome for my patients by helping them achieve and maintain oral health.

Q: What do you like to do outside of the clinic?
Dr. Vicky: When I’m not treating smiles, I love exploring new destinations, getting lost in a good book, and savouring the culinary delights of Melbourne’s diverse food scene.

Dr YiPei

“Being multilingual enables me to explain treatment options clearly, ensuring patients are well-informed and comfortable before proceeding.”

Q: Welcome, Dr. Yi Pei Teh. Can you tell us what inspired you to pursue a career in Dentistry?
Dr. Yi Pei Teh: My journey began when I graduated from the University of Manchester with a BDS degree in 2010. I was drawn to dentistry for its perfect blend of science, art, and the opportunity to make a tangible difference in people’s lives. Helping someone smile with confidence is truly rewarding.

Q: Over ten years in the dental field is a significant milestone. How has working in various communities shaped your approach to dental care?
Dr. Yi Pei Teh: Working in the Malaysian, Singaporean, and Victorian communities has been a great experience. It’s allowed me to interact with patients from diverse backgrounds and understand the unique concerns of different ethnicities. This multicultural exposure has taught me the importance of personalised care and the need to communicate effectively in various languages.

Q: Speaking of languages, your ability to speak English, Mandarin, and Cantonese must be a great asset in Melbourne. How does it benefit your practice?
Dr. Yi Pei Teh: Being fluent in multiple languages is invaluable in building trust and understanding with my patients. It enables me to explain treatment options clearly, ensuring patients are well-informed and comfortable before proceeding. Definitely make lives easier.

Q: Your interest in aesthetic dentistry, minor oral surgery, and orthodontics is fascinating. What draws you to these areas?
Dr. Yi Pei Teh: Aesthetic dentistry and orthodontics are about transforming smiles, while minor oral surgery addresses underlying dental health issues. Each area offers its own set of challenges and rewards, pushing me to continuously learn and improve.

Q: Beyond the clinic, how do you enjoy spending your time?
Dr. Yi Pei Teh: I cherish exploring nature and travelling with family and friends. It’s a way to recharge and gain new perspectives. Watching theatre shows is another passion of mine; it’s a beautiful expression of human creativity and emotion.

Q: Lastly, for someone considering dental care, what advice would you offer?
Dr. Yi Pei Teh: Don’t let language barriers or dental anxiety hold you back from seeking care. It’s important to find a dentist who understands your needs and can guide you through your dental journey with empathy and professionalism.
